Thank you for updating the rest of the world about the effects of the virus on Native Americans. The fact that the Navajos are being especially hard hit inspired me to write to you about the present History Channel series on the Skinwalker Ranch located in the Uintah Basin area of NE Utah. Supposedly all the wild, crazy and mostly negative paranormal events and poltergeist activity has been caused by a Navajo curse on the land. Let me copy a Facebook message I just made to someone on the Skinwalker Ranch FB group. I would very much like to hear your response to this phenomenon.

Dear Faye, I hear what you are saying about the deep and dark demonic influences at work on the Skinwalker Ranch. So I would like to hear your response to what appears to be occult vengeance being taken against the Navajo tribe for their placing that curse on the Ranch.
Right now, the Navajo Nation is close to suffering the highest rates of infection per capita of COVID-19. Could that be the result of the present investigation of the Ranch by the Mormon white men, which may be unleashing the occult forces of vengeance against the Navajo?

whoa whoa whoa– too many paranormal explanations here when I think there are more simple answers. S*walker is a name many Navajo won’t even utter, as it’s a taboo reference to dead relatives. The very name was appropriated by JK Rowling, but I think she may have dropped it after public outcry. Now this ranch seems to be appropriating the name (and Navajo spirituality) for their own financial gain. I don’t see a curse here– I see exploitation.
As for the COVID-19 outbreak at Navajo Nation, I think that can be explained by a highly contagious virus, the abundance of Navajo churches and community gatherings on the reservation, and poverty. No need for paranormal explanations here either.
Stephen, I apologize for dumping this on you with no warning and little context, but I felt it important to let you know about the situation because it is far more extensive than JK Rowling’s mistreatment 4 years ago. (I also couldn’t find a way to contact you privately, so I decided to do it here in a comment.)
First of all, there was a book published in 2005 called “Hunt for the Skinwalker”
which was made into a documentary movie in 2018. Maybe I should just leave you with the Wikipedia page for better orientation to the situation.

Las Vegas billionaire Robert Bigelow bought the ranch in 1995 in order to make a scientific study of the paranormal phenomena reported there. His organization was called NIDS= National Institute of Discovery Science. The present owner Brandon Fugal, a Mormon real estate tycoon from SLC, bought the ranch from Bigelow in 2016 and is the driving force behind the present cable TV series on the History Channel called “The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch”

I have nothing more to say about sk*walkers, the ranch, or any books or “documentaries” about it. In my mind, it has nothing to do with COVID-19. At this point, I’ll defer to Diné people to address it, if they so chose.
I understand it’s off-topic here. But I would like to hear what you might say about it in the future apart from COVID-19. Like it or not, Skinwalker Ranch with its Navajo connotations has become a strong viral meme as the flip side of a coin that has the release of UFO videos by the Pentagon on the other side.
